’14’ goal Ronaldo misses out on Saudi league’s best 11… only 5 from Al Ittihad

After missing out on the Saudi Professional League (SPL) title, Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nasr) had a fruitless season, missing out on the season’s best 11.

On Sunday, the SPL announced its Team of the Year for the 2022-2023 season based on player ratings and other data. Ronaldo, the man who brought the world’s attention to the SPL, did not make the cut.

Firas Albrican (Alphatech), Odion Ighalo 먹튀검증 (Alhilal), Murad Batna (Alphatech), Kaku (Althawon), Hominho (Alitihad), Luis Gustavo (Alnasr), Gislain Conant (Alnasr), Mahmed Shahrahili (Alnasr), Ahmed Hegazi (Alnasr), Madalah Aloayan (Alnasr) and Marcelo Grohe (Alnasr) completed the SPL’s best 11.

It was based on a 4-3-3 formation, and Ronaldo was not named in either the forward or midfield positions.

Ronaldo switched to Al-Nasr last winter after being released from his contract with Manchester United, and he created quite a stir from his debut. He was a solid performer, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists in 16 appearances in the second half of the season. However, he didn’t qualify for the team of the year.

The fact that he only played half the season and didn’t win an individual title despite his consistent performances is believed to have contributed to his omission from the Best 11.
