Busan I-Park jumps to 2nd place with win over Asan

Professional soccer’s Busan I-Park has won two straight games to move into sole possession of second place in the K League 2 standings.

The Busan club defeated Chungnam Asan 2-0 with goals from Kwon Hyuk-kyu and Park Jung-in in their Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 home match at Gudeok Stadium in Busan on March 28. Busan, which won its second straight match following 메이저놀이터 a 2-1 victory against Gyeongnam FC on Nov. 21, tied Gimpo FC (26-7-5-2) with 26 points (7 wins, 5 draws, 2 losses), but moved into second place with a superior goal difference (20 goals-16 goals). However, Gimpo has played two games less than Busan.

On this day, Busan played a home game at Gudok Stadium for the first time in about a year and a half since 2021. Busan, which has been using the Busan Asiad main stadium as its home stadium since last season, temporarily played its home games at Gudeok Stadium due to a K-pop concert. Therefore, today’s victory was the first at Gudeok Stadium in 583 days (about one year and seven months) since October 23, 2021, against Gyeongnam (1-0). Busan will continue to play home games at Gudok Stadium until next month’s match against Gimpo FC on March 10.

Against the league’s 10th-ranked Chungnam Asan, Busan was aggressive from the start. They also had the good fortune of having Chungnam Asan’s Park Min-seo sent off early in the first half. Park left the field early after receiving consecutive yellow cards in the 16th and 23rd minutes of the first half.

With their numerical advantage, Busan pressed forward and opened the scoring for Chungnam Asan in the 39th minute. Kwon Hyuk-gyu fired a thunderous mid-range shot from 25 meters away that deflected off a defender and into the corner of the net.

With the score at 1-0, Busan continued its offense in the second half. In the 18th minute, Sung Ho-young broke through the penalty area, but his shot hit the post.

The wedge goal came in the last minute of the second half. In the 43rd minute, Park finished the game with a left-footed shot after cutting into the penalty area from near the center line. It was Park’s first goal of the season.
