It has been confirmed that Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, recently met with Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, in Paris, France, where the 2024 Paris Olympics are underway.

FIFA released several photos of the interview on the 6th (local time), saying, “President Infantino met with Chung Mong-kyu, president of the Korea Football Association, in Paris.”

Among the photos taken against the backdrop of FIFA’s Paris office, there was also a moment when Chairman Chung presented Infantino with his recently published essay “The Age of Football – 30 Years of Jung Mong-gyu’s Soccer.”

FIFA also shared a 1 minute and 41 seconds long video of Chairman Chung speaking.

In the video, Chairman Chung said, “I think we have talked about the reality of soccer in Korea, the situation of soccer in Asia and around the world,” adding, “It is an interesting phenomenon in Korea that the fan base is expanding very much.”

“Traditionally, soccer has been a men’s sport for 30, 40, 50 years, but now there are countless female fans. That is a new phenomenon in Korea,” he said. “I think it is a very interesting phenomenon at this point in time.”

Chairman Chung also introduced the Korean Football Center in Cheonan, which is currently being built, to FIFA.

“We are building a national training center in Korea. It is a project worth almost 300 million dollars, and I think there will be 11 grounds,” he said. “We are grateful to FIFA for providing an additional 2 million dollars in addition to 5 million dollars.”

“Football is important to everyone. It is more so for those in need,” Chung said. “Football can change lifestyles and lives, which will give great strength to those in need.”

“I think FIFA’s plan is very good. It is a great honor to be able to hold such an important event in Korea,” he added. 메이저사이트

Although it is not specifically confirmed in the video, Chairman Chung seems to have mentioned the Homeless World Cup at Hanyang University in September.

The competition began in 2003 with the aim of attracting social attention and public support necessary to solve the homeless problem in the blind spot of residential rights.

FIFA recently signed a business agreement with its organizer, the Homeless World Cup Foundation, to support the operation of the tournament.
