Son Heung-min (Tottenham) gave warm advice to freshman Yang Min-hyuk (Gangwon FC).
Yang Min-hyuk signed a six-year contract with Tottenham on the 28th. It happened to be the day Tottenham stepped on Korean soil after their Japanese tour, and a medical test was conducted in Seoul.
Yang Min-hyuk, who has confirmed his joining of Tottenham, briefly met with Tottenham manager Engie Postecoglou and “captain” Son Heung-min. Son Heung-min delivered the conversation he had with Yang Min-hyuk at that time.
Son Heung-min said at a press conference ahead of the first match of the team’s K League and Coupang Play series on the 30th, “I didn’t meet (Yang Min-hyuk) for a long time. 18-year-old Yang Min-hyuk did not give burdensome advice. He just wanted Yang Min-hyuk to join the team in good health.
Yang will officially join Tottenham in January next year after finishing the 2024 season in Gangwon Province. It is expected that Son Heung-min and Yang will play in the same team from the second half of the 2024-25 season at the earliest.
