Veteran outfielder Lee Yong-gyu (38, Kiwoom Heroes) felt uncomfortable during the run and was replaced.

Lee Yong-gyu started as the first hitter and left fielder in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League Samsung Lions match held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 28th.

After striking out in the first two at-bats, Yong-kyu Lee took the lead in his third at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning and reached base with an infield hit.

Then, when Kim Hye-sung made a heavy hit, Lee Yong-gyu ran to third base while Samsung center fielder Kim Hyeon-joon made a catch error.

However, after stepping on third base, Lee Yong-gyu showed an uncomfortable expression. Lee Yong-gyu grabbed his left thigh and seemed to feel pain, and was eventually replaced by runner Kim Jun-wan.

An official from Kiwoom said, “During the base run, he felt discomfort in his left hip and was replaced to protect the player. He is undergoing icing treatment.”꽁머니

Afterwards, Lee Jung-hoo was injured and returned to the first team on the 23rd after a long time, but was replaced in the middle of the game again after 5 days.

Kiwoom is leading 3-0 with the 8th inning currently in progress.
