Liverpool are in danger of losing Fluminense’s Andre to Fulham.
“Fulham are aiming to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre in January next year,” British media outlet ‘The Standard’ reported on January 22 (KST). Fulham traveled to Brazil last week for face-to-face talks and have since moved ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign Andre.”
Andre is a defensive midfielder who doesn’t have a lot of height, but he has good balance and is not easily pushed out of contention. He can also play higher up the pitch. He is very forward and technically complete for a Brazilian player. Born in 2001, Andre has also earned a call-up to the Brazilian national team, where he made his A-match debut.
This summer, Liverpool also made a bid for Fluminense’s Andre. It was reported that he wanted to move to Liverpool as well. However, the deal fell through. Fluminense realized they needed him to win the title this season. The Brazilian league has an equinox season that starts in the spring and ends in the fall. In the end, Andre stayed with Fluminense, but the team is currently in eighth place and far from winning the league title.
Even though the deal fell through, Liverpool hasn’t given up on Andre. They continue to show interest in the player and plan to pursue him in the winter transfer window next January. According to English outlet Football Insider, the Reds are confident of landing the player.
Liverpool have undergone a generational change in the midfield this summer. Longtime midfielders Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, and James Milner have left the club. The Reds quickly found replacements with the signings of Alexis Sanchez and Dominic Sobocler. The problem was in defensive midfield. They targeted the likes of Romelu Lahvi and Moises Caicedo, but they were snapped up by Chelsea. The Reds got some relief in the final days of the transfer window with the likes of Wataru Endo and Ryan Hrabenberg. 보스토토 도메인
However, Liverpool are still looking to sign a defensive midfielder. They have Endo, but he’s not a first-team regular. Jürgen Klopp has been using McAllister off the bench. To play to his strengths, McAllister needs to play higher up the pitch, but that’s not an option for Liverpool at the moment. With Andre, the Reds will have less defensive midfield problems.
