Minnesota star Byron Buxton (30) has a hiatus.

According to MLB.com, the official website of the Major League Baseball (MLB) on the 5th (Korean time), Buxton was placed on the 10-day injured list (IL) that day due to a sprain problem in his right hamstring (muscles in the back of the thigh). The IL registration date will be applied retroactively to the 3rd. MLB.com said, ‘Buxton spent time in the IL in May with a left rib contusion. He highlighted his frequent departures, saying that at the end of July he missed a few games due to child care. Buxton was a prospect who was nominated as the second overall pick in the first round of the 2012 rookie draft, and received a contract payment of $6 million (7.8 billion won).

Before the hamstring injury, Buxton played in 85 games, hitting 0.207 (63 hits in 304 at-bats) with 17 homers and 42 RBIs. He had a combined OPS of on-base percentage (0.294) and slugging percentage (0.438) of 0.731. Although his productivity at the plate dropped significantly, he was tied for the team’s first team in home runs with Joey Gallo and ranked second in RBI behind Carlos Correa.

Minnesota is currently in first place in the Central District of the American League (AL) (56 wins, 54 losses), raising expectations for fall baseball. However, it is not safe to play with the second-place Cleveland Guardians (53-56) in 2.5 matches. Alex Kirilov (69 games batting average, 0.270, 8 homers, 32 RBIs), Royce Lewis (26 games batting average, 0.326, 4 homers, 15 RBIs), and many others were injured, but as Buxton was also left out, bad news overlapped.안전놀이터

Minnesota first recruited outfielder and first baseman Jordan Lufflow through a waiver claim as a card to fill Buxton’s void. On the 2nd, Luflow was treated as a transfer designation (DFA) from the Toronto Blue Jays, and a question mark was placed on his future. His career (7 years) in the big leagues was a batting average of 0.213, 45 home runs and 121 RBIs. This season, he played 7 games for Toronto and recorded a batting average of 0.214 (3 hits in 14 at-bats). Although he is less accurate, he has the experience of hitting double-digit home runs in 2019 (15), 2021 (11) and last year (11).
