The men’s professional volleyball team OK Financial Group and Woori Card have made a big deal.
Outside hitter Song Myung-geun and libero Song Hee-chae will swap jerseys.
OK Financial Group and Woori Card announced a trade today (June 26), swapping outside hitters Song Myung-geun and Song Hee-chae.
Song, who played for OK Financial Group from the 2013-2014 season to the 2017-2018 season, will return to OK Financial Group after six seasons with Samsung Fire and Woori Card.
She will play in the OK Financial Group uniform from the 2023-2024 season.
This is the first time Song has played exclusively for OK Financial Group since joining the professional league.
OK Financial Group joined the V-League in the 2013-2014 season under the name Russia & Cash.
Playing together on the pitch, Song Hee-chae and Song Myung-geun were the founding members of OK Financial Group and started their professional careers together, winning the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons.
After the 2017-2018 season, they became free agents side by side.
While Song Myung-geun signed a contract to stay with OK Financial Group, Song Hee-chae left for Samsung Fire.
Song Hee-chae was traded to the 토토사이트 Woori Card in April 2020, and Song Myung-geun played for OK Financial Group until the 2022-2023 season.
In the V League, Song Myung-geun scored 3,268 points in 259 games, while Song Hee-chae scored 2,279 points in 281 games.
Song Myung-geun is rated higher on offense and Song Hee-chae is rated slightly higher on defense.
OK Financial Group and Woori Card said, “With this trade, we have filled a need for our team. OK Financial Group added stability to the team by acquiring Song Hee-chae, an outside hitter with offensive skills. Woori Card has strengthened its offense by acquiring Song Myung-geun.”
The day before, Woori Card traded setter Hwang Seung-bin and received KB Insurance outside hitter Han Sung-jung for the second consecutive day, accelerating the team’s improvement.
