Son Heung-min has scored double-digit league goals for the eighth consecutive season.

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Newcastle United 4-1 in the 16th round of the 2023-24 Premier League (PL) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, at 1:30 a.m. ET on Nov. 11. With the win, Spurs moved to 30 points and into fifth place in the league.

Spurs needed the win. Spurs had gone five games without a win before this game. After opening the season on a 10-match unbeaten run (8 wins, 2 draws) that saw them climb to the top of the table at one point, they have since suffered their first loss of the season at Chelsea last month.

It wasn’t just the pain of defeat. Spurs have lost James Maddison and Mickey van der Vaart, two of their newest signings this summer who have become key parts of their offense, to injury. In addition, Romero received a three-match suspension for a direct challenge.

The loss of key players led to subsequent defeats against Wolverhampton and Aston Villa. They managed to draw with Manchester City, but were unable to bounce back as they were brought to their knees by West Ham United.

Luckily, this time, they won in style. Tottenham took the lead in the 26th minute. Son Heung-min made a fantastic individual run to beat Trippier and crossed for Udogie to finish. In the 38th minute, Son beat Trippier again and cut back for a goal that was converted by Heung-min.

Tottenham set the tone in the second half. In the 15th minute, a pinpoint pass from Foro found the back of the net. He calmly rattled the net. The fourth goal came in the 40th minute when Son Heung-min converted his own penalty kick. Tottenham held on for a 4-1 victory despite conceding a late goal.

The goal was Son’s 10th in the league, moving him into third place on the all-time goalscoring list behind Elling Holland (Man City, 14) and Mohamed Salah (Liverpool, 11). It was also his eighth consecutive season of double-digit league goals. With the exception of his first season, he has consistently scored 10 or more goals. 월카지노

He became the seventh player to do so, joining Wayne Rooney (11 consecutive seasons), Frank Lampard (10 seasons), Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane (9+ seasons), Thierry Henry and Sadio Mane (8+ seasons). Son is under contract with Tottenham until 2025. The club also has an option for a one-year extension. If he stays with Tottenham through the 2025-26 season and scores in double figures every time, he could do it for 10 consecutive seasons.
