‘I still like you’ Manchester United try again to recruit RB from Dutch national team

Manchester United are still interested in Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremy Frimpong.

United have been doing well this season under manager Eric ten Haag, but throughout the season there has been news about signings for the right-back position. Diogo Dalotra is a solid starter, but there is no player to back him up. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is there, but he lost trust within the team early on. Fortunately, Dalot was injured after the World Cup in Qatar, so Wan-Bissaka took the starting position again, and he is announcing a revival with good performance.

Wan-Bissaka is making his mark again, but United are still looking for a new right-back. German media ‘Bild’ reported that Manchester United still love Frimpong and are preparing to make an official offer. Manchester United had put Frimpong as a scouting candidate in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old Frimpong gained experience with Manchester City’s youth team from 2010 to 2019. Following this, he is building his professional career with Celtic and Leverkusen.

Frimpong is having his best season this season, scoring 5 goals and 2 assists in 19 Bundesliga appearances. He was also named as the Dutch national team for the World Cup in Qatar.

Leverkusen want to keep Frimpong, but their poor performance this season has put their odds of qualifying for the European tournament down. Meanwhile, the contract is less than two and a half years away, so the possibility of a transfer is rising.

Leverkusen paid €11m for Frimpong from Celtic in January 2021, and they are expected to pay more than double this if Manchester United take Frimpong this summer. 메이저놀이터
