Son Heung-min, mask stress confession, “I’m angry because I can’t see my cheeks”

Son Heung-min is running while wearing a mask as he has not recovered from an orbital fracture two months ago. My play is not coming out due to the stuffy mask, and the stress I receive is getting worse.

Son Heung-min complained of the stuffiness caused by the mask through an interview with British media ’90min’ on the 8th (local time).

He said, “My eyesight is still good, but there are times when I get annoyed when the ball comes to me because of the mask. I don’t really care, but it’s not the best way,” he said. “It was really frustrating to get the ball against Aston Villa and suddenly lose it. I was just angry,” he said, unable to restrain his frustration.

Son Heung-min suffered an orbital fracture injury after being hit by an opponent in the final match of the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League group stage against Olympique Marseille last November. He underwent urgent surgery and went to the World Cup in Qatar without his bones properly attached. He wore a mask, but his recovery was slow and he risked vision loss.

He is wearing a mask and running even after returning to his team after the World Cup. His participation in the World Cup has a huge impact on his slow recovery.

Son Heung-min can’t rest. His replacements, Lucas Moura, Richarlisson and Dejan Klusepski, have left due to injuries. As the team’s performance has fallen to 5th place in the league, even if you want to rest, you can’t.
