Former Liverpool FC captain Jordan Henderson leaves Saudi Arabia for the Netherlands.

Dutch media “VI” Tim Pan Du-jin said on the 14th (Korea time) that “Jordan Henderson’s transfer to AFC Ajax is one step closer.”

Henderson joined Sunderland AFC in 1998 at the age of eight. After playing in the first division in 2008, he also made his debut for the English senior team in 2010. Henderson was named one of the 13 prospects to pay attention to in 2011 announced by FIFA, and was named the Sunderland Young Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Henderson entered Liverpool for a fee of 16 million pounds (26.8 billion won) ahead of the 2011-2012 season. During his debut season in Liverpool, Henderson secured a key midfielder position by scoring two goals and three assists in 48 games. In the 2014-2015 season, he was appointed as a vice captain and appointed as a successor to Steven Gerrard.

In the 2015-2016 season, Henderson took over the captain’s armband for Liverpool after manager Jurgen Klopp took over. In the 2018-2019 season, Henderson lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy as captain and even won the 2019-2020 UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Henderson also led Liverpool to its first English Premier League victory in 30 years. Henderson was named the PFA Team of the Year and was honored with the title of both Liverpool Fan’s Player of the Year and FWA Player of the Year.

Since then, Henderson has added a Carabao Cup and FA Cup trophy for the 2021-2022 season. Last season, he lifted the FA Community Shield to become the first Liverpool captain to win seven major trophies.

In July 2023, Henderson moved to Saudi professional league Al Etipak. At that time, Saudi professional league clubs hired European stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Fabinho, Riyad Mahrez, and Roberto Firuminu with huge capital.

Henderson joined Al Etihad Park after signing a three-year contract worth 12 million pounds. He was immediately appointed as the captain of Al Etihad, and immediately after the transfer, he had two assists in four games. He has been a key player in the team with four assists in 17 games.

However, Henderson was not satisfied with his life in Saudi Arabia. On the 9th, AFC Ajax showed positive interest in Henderson. He also pushed for a return to the Premier League on his own and even made a counterproposal to Bayern Munich and Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.

At last, he is on the verge of returning to Europe. Di Marzio, an influential Italian reporter, suggested the possibility of moving to Juventus, which has the most wins in Serie A, on the 13th. However, Van Dujin predicted that Henderson would join the Netherlands, not Italy.

Van Duijn said, “The Ajax team is in contact with Henderson for an agreement on personal terms. Ajax will then have to sign with Al Etipark. Henderson will be able to sign with Ajax for a year and a half,” adding, “Henderson is also interested in moving to Ajax.”  헤라카지노도메인

“After Henderson completes his personal agreement, it is up to Ajax to agree on the transfer fee. Juventus also showed interest in Henderson, but it was not specific. Juventus could only proceed with the loan transfer. Ajax is financially ready, and Henderson wants a pay cut,” he added.

Henderson seems to just want to leave Saudi Arabia and return to Europe. Many soccer fans are paying attention to whether Henderson, a former Liverpool captain, will be able to leave the Middle East and return to the European big league.
